Register for summer camp at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire

DOVER — The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire offers several three-day, half-day summer camps throughout the summer, some designed for younger kids (Mini Camps) and others for the older kids (Discovery Camps). Members receive discounts on summer camps and registration is first come first served. Camps include playtime in the museum exhibits and outdoor play (weather permitting). Camps are limited to 12 children, and registration for each camp closes two weeks before start of camp. Registration opens to the public March 6. Learn more and register at childrens-museum.org.

Dover School District kindergarten registration

DOVER — Dover School District kindergarten registration is now open. If your child will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30, they will be eligible to register for the 2023-2024 school year. Online registration for new students to the district starting in the 2023-2024 school year will take place March 6-31.

Registration instructions:

  1. For new families to the Dover School District, visit www.dover.k12.nh.us to launch the online registration system. Please note: the online registration system is not supported to work with smartphones at this time. Please use a computer-based browser.

Families with a child currently attending any Dover school can add a new child to their existing registration account by logging into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

2. Parents will be prompted at various steps in the online registration process to upload several documents that will be attached to the child’s registration. These documents can be scanned or photographed with a smartphone camera as long as they are legible. Registration progress can be saved and returned to at a later time if needed. Please make note of the registration/application number the system assigns you for reentry.

3. Documents parents will be asked to upload into the online registration system include:

• A legible copy of the child's birth certificate.

• Proof of residency (utility bill, cable/internet, paystub, lease agreement, or mortgage statement).

• Current health and immunization records (must be current within this calendar year).

• Parenting plan or court custody agreement (if applicable).

In-person assistance:

Those requiring assistance registering their child for kindergarten are welcome to attend a walk-in registration session at their child’s school on Friday, March 17 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Laptops will be available to register your child at this time. Parents will be responsible for registering their own child at this session, assistance will only be provided if needed.

Cider Flights and Tasty Bites

DOVER — The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire is offering a unique, grown-up-only, fundraising event this spring. Tickets are on sale now for “Cider Flights & Tasty Bites” happening Saturday, March 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. (6:30 p.m. entry for VIP ticket holders) which is a special collaboration with North Country Hard Cider Company. The event, hosted at the Children’s Museum amongst its two floors of hands-on, interactive exhibits, will feature tasty four-ounce locally crafted cider pours from North Country Hard Cider paired with tasty bites from local restaurants. A portion of each ticket sold will benefit The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s exhibits and programs.

Tickets for Cider Flights & Tasty Bites are on sale now and limited to 200 general admission tickets and 50 VIP tickets. Advance online tickets are $35 per person and available until March 25 at 12 p.m. or $40 at the door if the event is not sold out. Designated driver tickets are also available for $25 in advance and $35 at the door and include non-alcoholic beverages and food tastings. Each general admission ticket purchase includes five four-ounce tastes of cider. Special VIP tickets are available for $50 ($35 designated driver) and feature early entry to the event at 6:30 p.m. as well as an extra four-ounce pour of cider, totaling six pours.

Rochester Chamber offers scholarships

ROCHESTER — The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is providing $500 scholarship(s) to eligible students graduating from high school.

Students eligible for the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce scholarship must be graduating seniors in high school who are either employed by or have a parent employed by a company that is a member of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

The recipient will be selected in April and be awarded in June at their school’s scholarship ceremony/graduation. The scholarship awarded will be payable to the institution they are attending in their second year of attending a full-time college, university or technical school.

Scholarship guidelines and applications are available at high schools in the region, at the Chamber office located at 18 South Main St., in Rochester or by visiting www.rochesternh.org/scholarship-program. The deadline is Friday, March 31.
