Memorial Day weekend is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

1. Summer Camp Music Festival returns

The Summer Camp Music Festival returns to its Memorial Day weekend schedule this year at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe. The Smashing Pumpkins will headline the fest and over 100 other bands and artists will perform over the course of the weekend. 2. Traveling Taphouse at Bradley Park

The Parks on Tap Traveling Taphouse will be set up from 4 to dusk Friday, May 27, in Lower Bradley Park, 1314 N. Park Road, Peoria. The event will also feature yard games, music, food and non-alcoholic drinks. Admission is free.

3. Music, Wine and Craft Beer Festival

Mackinaw Valley Vineyard's Music, Wine and Craft Beer Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 28, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at the vineyard, 33633 Illinois Route 9, Mackinaw. This year's festival will feature over 50 wines and 60-plus craft beers for tasting and purchase from around the world. The Lions Club will be providing food concessions, with the proceeds going to its charity. There will also be an artisan cheese sampling and sales by Ropp Jersey Cheese in the pavilion.

On Saturday and Sunday there will be music throughout the day by local artists and bands. Admission is $15 per person and includes the concerts, a souvenir tasting glass and five tasting tickets for ages 21 and over; $5 for ages 13-20; and free for ages 12 and under.

4. Beers & Gears 2022 bike ride

Bike Peoria's Beers & Gears ride will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 28. This year's ride will start at Industry Brewing Company, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. The ride departs at noon and will make its way along the Island Greenway with stops at Safety Town, Junction City and the village of Peoria Heights before heading back to Fox Pub for the after party with food, entertainment and more. Participants can preregister for $25 online by visiting www.bit.ly/beersandgears or www.bikepeoria.org. Admission is $30/day of event.

5. 'Summer of Star Wars on the Giant Screen'

The Peoria Riverfront Museum’s “Summer of Star Wars on the Giant Screen” kicks off with screenings of "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" at 3 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 28.
