DAYTONA BEACH – At the World’s Most Famous Beach, the summer soundtrack is powered by everything from nostalgic rock ‘n’ roll to breezy hits from contemporary country stars.

That’s the musical DNA for a packed schedule of upcoming weekend concerts at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, a summer slate that opens this weekend with a “Summer Throwback Bash By the Beach” featuring 1980s pop star Taylor Dayne on Saturday, May 6, at the Bandshell.

Tribute bands again will draw weekend crowds to the Daytona Beach Bandshell. The upcoming show schedule also includes performances by Taylor Dayne and country star Brian Kelley.

Here's what's coming up:

Summer Throwback with Taylor Dayne

After hitting it big with the propulsive 1987 dance-floor favorite “Tell It To My Heart,” Taylor Dayne has gone on to sell over 75 million albums in a three-decade career powered by chart-topping hits including Number Ones “Love Will Lead You Back” “Prove Your Love” and “I’ll Always Love You.”

For the Daytona Beach show, Dayne will be joined by pop star Tiffany, who also debuted on the pop scene in 1987 with her inescapable cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now,” originally performed by Tommy James & the Shondells.

Also on the bill: Freedom Williams, the force behind C+C Music Factory and its hit dance anthem “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).” It’s another song that never seems to age.

Gates open at 6 p.m. for the Saturday show. Tickets range from $40-$150, plus fees, at Ticketmaster.com.
