Summer skaters from Duluth club win awards at competition

Jul. 21—DULUTH — Two members of the Duluth Figure Skating Club won awards at the Excel National Festival event earlier this month in Norwood, Massachusetts.

The event featured 400-plus figure skaters from around the country in the intermediate, novice, junior and senior levels.

Jessica Martinelli of Duluth was a bronze medalist in the senior ladies division with a score of 70.48. Martinelli was commended for her Level 4 combination and layback spins.

Alyssa Isackson of Superior won the bronze medal in the intermediate women's event, scoring 31.48 points.

Maya Morrissey also represented the DFSC at the event.
