June 9 might be Monroe County's last chance to see Katie & Jordan.

The Sylvania, Ohio-based musical duo was set to debut in the City of Monroe Concert in the Park series in 2019. That show was rained out.

Now, the duo is preparing to end its popular act, but a Monroe date remains on the tour. Katie & Jordan will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. June 9 in the bandshell at St. Mary’s Park. Admission is free. Attendees should bring blankets or lawnchairs.

Katie & Jordan play summery songs from the 1960s to today.

“Katie sings and can play guitar, and I play guitar and sing. Sometimes I play piano too,” Jordan, a Monroe native, said. "Our sound is acoustic mellow summer fun. We play our favorite covers from decades past and try to throw in a few modern songs too. We love to harmonize together. (In Monroe) we are going to play our favorite feel-good summer songs for the Concert in the Park. If the audience wants to make requests we will definitely play them if we know them.”

Jordan said the playlist will depend on the audience.

"We typically try to read the crowd. If it's an older crowd, we play playing '70s and '80s, and if there are younger people, we have songs for them too. Something for everyone. Oftentimes the crowd is mixed, so we just do a little bit of everything," he said.

Jordan grew up on Borgess Ave. in Monroe. Katie is from Sylvania.

“Katie has been singing most of her life,” Jordan said. “She was in a seven-piece disco band called East River Drive that got pretty popular down in Ohio. I have been playing out live since 1999. We started the Katie & Jordan Show about five years ago after we met randomly online.”

The pair plays about 150 shows a year.

“It’s been a blast. We used to play in Monroe a lot more before COVID, but we are slowly getting back to it,” Jordan said.

The band is releasing a Christmas album this winter, but will wrap-up concerts in September.

"It's been an amazing ride and we have had a blast playing for so many people," Jordan said. "We are lucky to be able to do this, and I will always miss these days."
