Summerfest says it will have updates on a Jimmy Buffett concert 'later.' But the Milwaukee festival hadn't announced the show yet.

Milwaukee World Festival Inc., the operator of Summerfest, issued this statement Tuesday afternoon:
“More information will be provided at a later date regarding Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band’s concert on Thursday, July 6 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.”
The thing is: To date, neither Summerfest nor Jimmy Buffett had announced anything about the singer-songwriter headlining the Big Gig on July 6 — the last slot still open on the schedule for the American Family Insurance Amphitheater for the 2023 music festival on Milwaukee's lakefront.
Having a to-be-announced act on Summerfest's biggest stage less than a month before the start of the festival is pretty much unprecedented. But Summerfest booking officials had been silent publicly about the July 6 headlining act before Tuesday's statement.
Buffett, on the other hand, hasn't been silent — he's been in the hospital.
The "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville" singer, who turned 76 in December, was hospitalized in Boston last week after a trip to the Bahamas. Buffett told his followers on Twitter that he had stopped in Boston for a medical checkup and wound up in the hospital "to address some issues that needed immediate attention."
"Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you," Buffett wrote.

Buffett canceled a concert last weekend in Charleston, South Carolina, as he returned "home" to recover.
The "tour" tab on Buffett's official website, which normally lists Buffett's upcoming concert itinerary, reads simply: "STAY TUNED FOR SHOW ANNOUNCEMENTS!"
Meanwhile, the unannounced Jimmy Buffett date is on the schedule on Summerfest's website. On Wednesday, Ticketmaster's site for selling tickets for the concert had an update reading: "On-sale date and time are in the works — please check back!"
Also, Summerfest's schedule brochures reportedly have been printed, listing Buffett as the July 6 headliner.
Whether Buffett will actually play Summerfest’s amphitheater July 6 remains to be seen.
