PANAMA CITY BEACH − For Diane Nottage, it's important that communities offer activities for children during the summer.

As a recreation coordinator for Panama City Beach, Nottage said Wednesday the city is offering about 30 summer camps that will run from the beginning of June until the end of July. The camps boast a variety of topics and rang in price, costing anywhere from $15 to $240.

"I think it benefits the children because they'll have a safe place to do something that they most likely can't do at home, and I think it gives their parents a little break from them too," she said. "It's important to provide opportunities for kids to socialize (and) get away from their TVs. ... There's a great variety of camps, so there's something for everyone."
