Summit County deputies executing warrant use Barberton High School as staging area

Summit County sheriff's deputies were at Barberton High School on Thursday afternoon while executing a warrant in the city. The school was closed Thursday due to weather.

Commander Bill Holland, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said deputies notified the school district of the operation.

"We executed a search warrant at a residence in Barberton and we used the high school as a staging area," he said.

He said the operation took place around 2 p.m., but could not immediately release further details.
