Sumner REALTORS® raises $3k for local nonprofits in 2nd annual Poker Chip Challenge, Car Show

Three local nonprofits have been selected to receive funds from the Sumner REALTORS® second annual Poker Chip Challenge and Car Show.

About $3,000 was collected during the event last month, with $1,000 each marked for each nonprofit – The Jason Foundation, Humane Society of Sumner County and Sumner County Fire Buffs.

“The many local sponsors who dedicated their Saturday to this fundraiser deserve to be recognized for the donations. Sumner REALTORS® is proud to organize the event to help other local nonprofits, but the companies who chose to participate this year made it all possible,” Sumner REALTORS® CEO Dave Chaney said in prepared comments statement.

“Our goal is to raise awareness about what we are collectively doing so we can grow participation in future years from people who want a chance to win some amazing prizes while contributing to a good cause. The more people we have involved, the more money we can raise to support organizations doing important work in the community.”

Working to support the lives of all in Sumner County – including the county’s youth, abandoned, lost and displaced animals and first responders – each nonprofit dedicates themselves to their mission of positive change.

The second annual event, held in Hendersonville on May 14, provided participants a route with specific stops at local businesses in Hendersonville and Gallatin to drive along and collect poker chips, for a $25 entry fee.

Each stop along the route provided motorists with giveaway opportunities.

Motorists who visited all 12 stops and returned to the checkpoint with the maximum number of poker chips were entered into the grand prize drawing, a $500 Visa gift card provided by Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc.

In addition to the annual Poker Chip Challenge and Car Show, Sumner REALTORS® hosts several other annual nonprofit fundraisers throughout the year including the annual golf tournament and Haunted Hustle, a Halloween-themed 5K benefitting Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County.

This year’s Haunted Hustle is scheduled for Oct. 29 at the Streets of Indian Lake.

Taking place on Oct. 10 at Twelve Stones Golf Club in Goodlettsville, the Golf Classic raises thousands annually for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County.
