Sun City Welding Academy Texas High School ‘build off’ begins Friday
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Several high school welding teams across West Texas and New Mexico will be battling on Friday, Feb. 16 at the third annual Sun City Welding Academy Texas High School Welding Series Build Off in El Paso.
Sun City Welding Academy says the competition will start at 9 a.m. and awards will be announced at 3 p.m. The event will be taking place at Sun City Welding Academy located on 6940 Commerce Ave, El Paso, TX., 79915.
The competition will include 18 high schools across the region who will compete in a series of welding challenges designed to “assess their proficiency in various techniques, safety protocols, and problem-solving abilities,” the welding academy said.
The competition will include scholarship and prize opportunities, industry engagement, education exhibits and presentations, networking and community building, according to the welding academy.
“This electrifying competition will showcase the next generation of skilled welders and highlight the vital role this trade plays in our region’s future,” the welding academy said.
