Guests at an intimate dinner during the 2019 Sundance Film Festival were treated to an incredible musical surprise on Saturday night.

At night two of the ChefDance dinner series sponsored by PostMates and Shiseido, where a star-studded crowd dined on food by James Beard nominated chef Jessica Koslow of Sqirl and sipped on Antinori wine, multiple Grammy winner Macy Gray performed a short set of covers and original songs that featured an unexpected guest.

While singing her hit, "I Try," Gray welcomed fellow singer Avril Lavigne onto the stage to perform a rousing rendition of the song as celebs like Chris Meloni, Maria Bello and "Vanderpump Rules" stars Lala Kent and Scheana Marie sang and clapped along.

During the performance, Gray also revealed that she had flight troubles while trying to get from Los Angeles to Park City, and it was actually Lavigne who stepped in to make sure she made it to her gig.

"I missed two flights, but then guess who called me up? Avril Lavigne!" adding that the singer flew her to the film festival earlier on Saturday. "We've been having the best time together!"
