Palm Springs International Airport officials urged travelers to plan ahead and arrive early to catch their flights Sunday, which is expected to be the last busy day of its Thanksgiving week rush.

More than 35,000 people were expected to depart from the airport during the travel period that began Tuesday and ends Sunday, according to officials.

Some 7,000 of those were expected to pass through the airport on Sunday alone. It and Wednesday are usually the busiest days of the week.

With that, parking options could become limited due to high demand. Travelers were urged to consider using a ride-sharing service to reach the airport to avoid parking hassles.

Additionally, due to the airport's ongoing concessions overhaul, airport officials encouraged travelers to plan ahead for dining as some food and retail options will be affected. Grab-and-go food choices like the Half Moon Empanada Stand are still open.

Due to the holiday rush, travelers were encouraged to arrive at the airport at least two hours early. More information on how to prepare can be found at flypsp.com.
