MADISON – Wisconsin’s players and coaches will learn their bowl destination and opponent sometime Sunday.

The College Football Playoff matchups and other bowl games are set to be revealed on ESPN from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

UW (8-4), which fell out of the CFP rankings after suffering a 23-13 loss at Minnesota last week, is out of the running for a New Year’s Six bowl.

The result of the Big Ten title game Saturday night between No. 2 Michigan (11-1) and No. 13 Iowa (10-2) will help determine UW’s fate.

A Michigan victory would send the Wolverines to the playoff and likely send No. 7 Ohio State (10-2) to the Rose Bowl.

No. 11 Michigan State (11-2) could land a New Year’s Six bowl berth or end up in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1 in Orlando.

Iowa could then land in either the Citrus Bowl or the Outback Bowl.

Of course, the Hawkeyes could cause chaos by upsetting Michigan.

The Badgers are projected to land in one of three bowls.

Here is a look at the possibilities for UW:

Las Vegas Bowl, Dec. 30

This game is set to be played at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 30 at Allegiant Stadium and features a Big Ten-Pacific 12 matchup.

A potential opponent is Arizona State (8-4), which finished tied for second place in the Pacific 12 South Division.

The Sun Devils closed the regular season with a 38-15 victory over rival Arizona. They were 3-0 in the Pacific 12 after a 28-10 home victory over Stanford on Oct. 8, but back-to-back losses to Utah and Washington State all but ended their title hopes.

Outback Bowl, Jan. 1

This game is set for 11 a.m. Jan. 1 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and features a Big Ten-SEC matchup.

UW last played in the 2015 Outback Bowl, with then-athletic director Barry Alvarez serving as interim coach in the wake of Gary Andersen’s departure.

Melvin Gordon rushed 34 times for 251 yards and three touchdowns in UW’s 34-31 overtime victory over Auburn. UW finished 11-3.

UW’s potential opponents in Tampa? Kentucky (9-3), Arkansas (8-4) and Tennessee (7-5).

Music City Bowl, Dec. 30

This game, set for 2 p.m. Dec. 30 in Nashville, Tennessee, features a Big Ten-SEC matchup.

UW suffered a 28-14 loss to Auburn in the 2003 Music City Bowl.
