Sunday's area roundup: Offense surges Leominster past Sturbridge

Leominster 13, Sturbridge 2: Adam Bessette had a hit, two RBIs and three runs as Leominster topped host Sturbridge at Tantasqua Regional High.

Teammate Danny Wright had two hits and two runs, Nick Ouellette drove in three runs, and Dylan Adamson had two RBIs.

After the first two Sturbridge batters singled and later scored, Henry Bruun didn't allow any more runs or hits while striking out six and walking none in five innings for Leominster (14-6).

David Seaver and Keenan Wetherbee scored and had a hit for Sturbridge (0-20).

East Side 6, Cherry Valley 4: Noah Pratt scored three runs, while John Tulley and Colin Johnson each had two RBIs as East Side (15-4) defeated host Cherry Valley (4-14).

Pittsfield 6, Bravehearts 1: Lewis Barnum drove in T.J. Watcher with a single in the eighth inning for the Bravehearts (16-23) in a loss at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
