Sunday's wintry mix means black ice likely through Monday in Gaston County

A wintry mix of snow and ice on Sunday continues to make driving conditions treacherous across most of Gaston County.

And with overnight temperatures dipping to around 26 degrees expect that mixture to freeze, making driving conditions tough on Monday.

Monday will feature sunny skies, but a high of only 40 degrees, slowing the big thaw, especially in shaded areas and those areas that don't get a lot of natural sunlight.

Gaston County will remain under a Winter Storm Warning until at least 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
