Sundown music festival in Anchorage announces early headliners

Feb. 19—The Sundown Alaska Music & Arts Festival has announced several of the artists it has confirmed will perform during its three-day extravaganza in Anchorage this summer.

The initial lineup includes Wasilla-rooted rockers Portugal. The Man, Diplo, Tech N9ne and Sheck Wes, according to festival producers ShowDown Productions.

"This is only the first phase of announcements stay tuned for even MORE national and local acts," the production agency wrote in a social media post.

The all-ages event scheduled for June 7 to 9 will again be held at Cuddy Park in Anchorage, and will include food vendors, artists and carnival rides.

Last year's festival featured more than 45 national artists, and sold about 15,000 tickets across three days.

Grammy Award-winning Portugal. The Man is coming off the June 2023 release of their latest album, "Chris Black Changed My Life." Diplo — a DJ, songwriter and record producer known for his collaborations with artists including Sia, Skrillex, Miguel, Ellie Goulding, Bad Bunny and Justin Bieber — is returning to Anchorage after previously performing in Alaska.

Tech N9ne is an acclaimed Kansas City rapper who has sold more than 2 million records though his record label Strange Music. Hip-hop artist Shek Wes is best known for his 2017 hit song "Mo Bamba."

Early tickets and passes to the event are on sale now, starting at $79 for a general admission single-day ticket and $149 for a three-day pass.
