Lee announced in November this would be her last season competing for Auburn, as she plans to return to elite gymnastics to push for a spot in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. During the 2020 Games in Tokyo, Lee won the gold medal in women's gymnastics all-around, becoming the fifth straight American woman to accomplish the feat.

“The team did really well and did a great job putting everything together,” Lee said after the Super 16 in a school release. “Personally, I feel like I did everything I could. I had a couple of hiccups and I’m still trying to figure out my routines, but I’m just taking (it) day by day and am happy with tonight.”
