Sunny skies and Christmas in July: what to do in South Jersey this weekend

Attention all South Jerseyans: the sun is finally making a weekend appearance.

After constant thunderstorms, showers and yucky weather conveniently scattered throughout the summer weekend hours, it looks like the sun is returning from its desolate vacation.

While the National Weather Service is reporting chances of showers throughout the afternoon and evening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are boasting sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-to-high 80s, perfect for the beach and any other summer activities you've been putting off.

Feeling in tune with your holiday spirit? Check out some of the fun and festive events happening this weekend.

Take some photos with the Grinch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and get a head start on your holiday shopping all weekend at the Shoppes at Dragon Village in Bridgeton.

Swing by the Cedarvale Winery in Swedesboro on Saturday for lots of holiday fun. Enjoy vendors, live music and a visit from Santa throughout the day, 1 to 6 p.m.

Soak up the summer fun

Not looking to get into the holiday headspace just yet? No worries.

Check out an itinerary of BBQ, pottery painting, photography family sessions and more at A Garden Party Florist in Elmer this weekend. The Saturday and Sunday Peach Celebration will also be complete with peach teas, baked goods and other treats to enjoy, as well as a free bag of Larchmont peaches when you spend $50. Kids can enjoy lawn games and free crafts.

Hang out with the Glassboro Historical Society on Saturday for their Classic Car and Hot Rod Meetup from 1 to 4 p.m. Chat with other car enthusiasts and browse throughout the West Jersey Depot.

Come see the queens this weekend at Landmark Americana in Glassboro for their monthly "Drag Me to Landmark" weekend shows. Wear your summer attire for Saturday's 8 to 11 p.m. Summer Beach Bash or come out on Sunday 6 to 9 p.m. for Bikini Bottom Bash.
