Sunoco pipeline project to wrap up soon, energy company tells township

Energy Transfer, parent company of Sunoco, has completed the main work on its 14-Inch Twin Oaks to Newark Jacobs Creek Pipeline Relocation project in Upper Makefield, leaving only landscaping and repaving of Oakdale Avenue as finishing steps.

Here's what to know about the project:

Energy Transfer pipeline replacement complete, beautification next

Joe Massaro, spokesperson for Energy Transfer, said the pipework is done and all the construction rubble has been removed. The next steps are to spread out the topsoil that was previously on site, and finish the grading work.

Massaro provided this update during the supervisors' most recent meeting.

"Once that work is done on site, we will pivot to restoring that area to how it was before," Massaro said. "One of the land owners there had a very sophisticated water irrigation system, so that will be going back in."

Massaro told the supervisors the project should wrap up next month.

"Potentially, everything but the paving should be done by the end of June," Massaro said. "Paving is probably going to slide a little bit into July."
