Sunshine State awards: Palm Beach Post honored with 9, Daily News with 1 first place

Reporters for The Palm Beach Post won nine awards — four first place — announced Friday in the 2023 Sunshine State Awards journalism contest. The Palm Beach Daily News also was honored with one first place award.

Professional journalists from newspapers all over Florida as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands submit their work that published in 2022.

The awards, in their 29th year, are put together by the Society for Professional Journalists, Florida chapter, along with the South Florida chapters of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists; The Association of LGBTQ Journalists and the Florida chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
