SUNY, CUNY application fees waived for NY high school seniors in October. Here's where
Over 100 colleges and universities throughout the state are waiving their application fees as part of the New York State College Application Month initiative.
All SUNY and CUNY schools, plus over 40 private New York colleges and universities, are providing high school seniors with free application opportunities throughout the month of October, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced last week.
"Education is the backbone of our society, and I am committed to providing opportunities that support every student's journey to a higher education," Hochul said. "Removing financial barriers enables students who may not have considered completing an application due to financial constraints to take the first steps of their educational journey."
What the fee wavier means for NY college applicants
All 64 SUNY schools are waiving their application fees for two weeks, beginning Oct. 16 through Oct. 29.
Application fees for high school seniors in New York City public schools will be waived for all 25 CUNY schools through the entire month of October. All New York residents who will apply as a freshman to CUNY schools will have their fees waived between Oct. 16 and 31.
Currently, CUNY has guaranteed admissions to all seven community colleges for any student who holds a high school diploma.
Participating private institutions have varying fee waivers during the month.
