Super 11: Meet this year's top senior football players for the Treasure Coast in 2022

Saleem Felder, Port St. Lucie running back

Highlights: Production at the running back position is what Port St. Lucie senior Saleem Felder has given the Jaguars ever since he reached high school.

Rushing for 800 yards as a freshman, just shy of 1,000 as a sophomore and going over 1,200 yards with 19 touchdowns in his junior year, Felder was a huge reason why his team won its first district title in three decades.

Nick Venezia, Jensen Beach wide receiver  

Highlights: Venezia played his first two years at Battlefield High School in northern Virginia. As soon as Venezia immersed himself into the Falcon program, his drive to improve on his skills made an impression on head coach Tim Caffey.

Calling him his program’s "alpha dog," Caffey believes the leadership of Venezia will be vital with an otherwise young roster that will lean on the senior for production and consistency.

Melik Cooper, Treasure Coast linebacker  

Highlights: Cooper has been a stalwart for Treasure Coast's defense the past two seasons and has played a big part in the rise of the program. The Titans won nine games in 2020 and last year went 10-2, reaching the 8A state semifinals with Cooper totaling 54 tackles and seven pass breakups.

Standing at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, Cooper's versatility for head coach Irvin Jones' defense makes him invaluable to the Titans with the different looks they gives opposing offenses.

Judah Michel, Centennial linebacker

Highlights: One of the keys to Michel’s development has been adding weight to his lanky 6-foot-3 frame. Already adding 20 pounds this summer to get up around 190 pounds, Michel wants to get over 200 pounds to be able to pack more of a punch as a tackler to add to his athleticism being used as a pass rusher for Centennial.

Coaches also see Michel useful dropping in coverage as he boasts 4.67 speed in the 40-yard dash.

Last season, Michel posted 50 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles, and nine tackles for a loss for the Eagles, who reached the 7A state playoffs.

Aidan Singleton, John Carroll Catholic defensive back

At 6 feet and 180 pounds, Singleton’s knack for being around the football was never better than it was last season.

Totaling five interceptions and breaking up 12 passes, Singleton earned TCPalm First Team All-Area Defense honors helping John Carroll reach a regional championship game for the second straight year.

For college, Singleton was drawn to Lehigh's complete package as one of the top universities in the country when it came to academics and feeling confident that the relationships he built with the coaching staff would give him the tools for success on the field.

Keyshawn Campbell, Vero Beach linebacker

Highlights: At 6-foot, 205 pounds, Campbell possesses the speed to move sideline-to-sideline as well as drop into coverage. One aspect of Campbell’s game he has worked on the most this summer is working on his blitzing technique to be able to get after the quarterback with more regularity in 2022.

All the qualities that Campbell possesses combined with his experience made him a recruit that the likes of Mississippi State, Georgia State and Florida Atlantic among others wanted badly.

Nathan Guinn, Vero Beach tight end

Highlights: Showing his skills at a camp and earning an offer from the Illini, Guinn committed to Illinois after taking an official visit in June.

Showing his coaches during the spring that he can be utilized in the run game with his strength as a blocker, Guinn’s path to become a reliable receiver with his hands has improved every time he steps on the field.

As quickly as his opportunity came to be a Division I prospect ticketed to play in the Big 10, Guinn has tried to take everything in with the now expectation to produce knowing that he is now a name opposing defenses have to account for as he prepares for college.

Alex Woods, Treasure Coast offensive lineman 

Highlights: Helping Treasure Coast win 10 games and reach its first state semifinal in school history, Woods earned TCPalm First Team Offense honors and was named second team all-state last season.

As a result of his play along with his high upside, Woods' recruitment exploded with offers flying in last spring from all over the country.

Pittsburgh, Iowa State and Appalachian State were among the colleges that offered Woods, but ultimately SMU was the school Woods felt comfortable with as soon as he received an offer from the Mustangs.

Corey McIntyre, Jr., Treasure Coast defensive lineman 

Highlights: McIntyre began his high school career at Treasure Coast, but detoured to his father's alma mater to play at South Fork as a sophomore.

As a welcome addition back to the Titan defense, McIntyre put together an outstanding junior year in which he earned TCPalm First Team All-Area Defense honors.

Helping anchor a defensive line that gave opposing offenses fits, McIntyre was a big reason why the Titans won 10 games, won a district championship and reached the 8A state semifinals for the first time in school history.

Vandrevius Jacobs, Vero Beach wide receiver

Coming to Vero Beach after two years at Fort Pierce Westwood, Jacobs had an excellent year as a junior finishing with 49 catches for 809 yards and 10 touchdowns, five of which came in one game against Fort Pierce Central.

With the measurables and production to match, Jacobs had a score of top college football programs wanting him to get on campus and convince him it was the place for him to be.

Schools like Arkansas, Miami, Colorado, Georgia Tech and many other Power 5 programs wanted Jacobs but there was one school he hoped would give him a chance.

Wilky Denaud, John Carroll Catholic defensive lineman  

Highlights: The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Denaud held offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Penn State, South Carolina and Tennessee among others. Denaud narrowed his choices between of Auburn, Florida State, Indiana and Tennessee before selecting the Tigers and head coach Bryan Harsin.

With the size and athleticism tailored to playing in the SEC, Denaud had an excellent junior season with 55 total tackles, 15 sacks and 14½ tackles for loss to vault himself into one of the state's most coveted defensive line prospects.
