Super Bowl champion Bucs to open up NFL season in primetime

The defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers will help kickoff the 2021 NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, September 9.

The announcement came on NBC on Wednesday morning as the Bucs and Cowboys will meet up in a Thursday Night Football game on the network.

Tampa Bay returns all 22 starters from last year’s championship team while Dallas will have quarterback Dak Prescott returning in the season opener after an injury.

The entire 17-game NFL schedule will be released on Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
