Super Bowl LVIII: Where to watch the Big Game in the Sacramento area

(FOX40.COM) — The Super Bowl has become an American pastime where hundreds gather for football, food, commercials and entertainment in the halftime show.

This year’s Super Bowl matchup is between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The 49ers look to capture their sixth Lombardi Trophy while the Chiefs seek to become the first repeat NFL champion since 2023-24 and win their third title in four years.

Whether you’re rooting for the 49ers or the Chiefs or looking forward to watching Usher perform at halftime, here are watch parties and food and drink specials happening in the Sacramento area.

Tom’s Watch Bar

Tom’s Watch Bar in DOCO will host a pregame and watch party for the game that starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

The sports bar across the Golden 1 Center is advertising free shots, NFL merchandise giveaway, football trivia and Super Bowl squares.

According to the business’ Instagram, those who sign up for its fan club can get a drink for $1.

Drake’s: The Barn

Drake’s in West Sacramento’s Bridge District is offering a bucket of 32 wings, buffalo chicken tots (referred to as touchdown tots) and a nine-inch pizza called the personal fowl.

The special game-day pizza includes garlic sauce, mozzarella, roasted chicken, red onion, roasted mushroom, olives, and is garnished with oregano and pecorino.

Punch Bowl Social

500 J Street, Suite 100, Sacramento, CA 95814

Punch Bowl Social, located in DOCO, is offering drink specials including $25 buckets of Bud Light, Big Game-themed cocktails and shots, and “Baller Platters.”

The business also offers free games like corn hole, darts, board games and more.

Clubhouse 56

Clubhouse 56 in East Sacramento is a place where 49ers fans can root for their team, but the neighborhood bar is expected to get crowded.

According to the sports bar’s Instagram account, the Big Game will be on our their TVs including both theatre screens along with a full menu and game day specials.

The sports bar recommends showing up early to get good seats.

Barwest in midtown will have food, drinks, and 32 televisions showing the game including a large jumbotron.

Along with its full menu, the sports bar offers six-different types of a shareable 96 ounce fishbowl.

Kick’n Mule

2901 W Capitol Avenue, West Sacramento, CA 95691 

Kick’n Mule in West Sacramento is having happy hour all day and early arrival is recommended, as the business will not accept reservations.

According to the sports bar’s Instagram page, there will be a pregame DJ from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Bear and Crown in Old Sacramento is hosting a Super Bowl watch party in its banquet room.
