Super Bowl Sunday 2022: Where to find best chicken wings for gameday on Treasure Coast

Chicken wings go hand-in-hand with football — get it?

Whether you’re getting takeout for a house party or going out to watch the Big Game, it’s time to start planning food for Super Bowl Sunday.

But the price of poultry, along with most food products, has been rising during the coronavirus pandemic. The cost of chicken wings per pound is up by more than $1 compared to the same time last year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest report. An eight-piece order has increased by nearly $3 on average from last year.

The increase affected local restaurants in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties.

Last year, the St. Lucie Draft House in Port St. Lucie increased prices on wings. Archie’s Seabreeze in Fort Pierce removed chicken wings from its happy hour menu. Southern Pig & Cattle Co. Smokehouse & Grill in Stuart eliminated its chicken wings altogether.
