'Super Mario Bros. Movie' final trailer features Rainbow Road from 'Mario Kart'

Universal Pictures and animation company Illumination have released the final trailer for the upcoming “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.”

In the minute-and-a-half video, which was shared on Friday, Bowser (voiced by Jack Black) can be heard presenting an empowering speech about destroying the Mushroom Kingdom.

Seconds later, Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) and Donkey Kong (voiced by Seth Rogen) are shown navigating a “New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe”-like course before joining Princess Peach (voiced by Anna Taylor-Joy), Toad (voiced by Keegan-Michael Key) and other beloved characters to race down “Mario Kart”’s iconic Rainbow Road.

The highly anticipated film, which was first announced in January 2018, features a star-studded cast, including Pratt, Black, Rogen, Taylor-Joy, Key, Charlie Day (Luigi) and Fred Armisen (Cranky Kong).

Charles Martinet, who has voiced Mario in the video games for over three decades, will notably be making a special cameo.

“The Super Mario Bros. Movie” will hit cinemas on April 5.
