Superintendent at Butler County school under investigation

A Superintendent at Lakota Local Schools is under investigation after a complaint was filed by a member of the community.

A complaint was filed against Matt Miller on Aug. 22 with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, according to our news partners at WCPO.

Lakota Board of Education President Lynda O’Connor said there were “no credible allegations against Mr. Miller.”

On Sept. 9 the Sheriff’s office completed its investigation and found there wasn’t “probable cause” to bring criminal charges against Miller.

O’Connor said during a board meeting that the the district is having a neutral party review the case to make sure the superintendent is not a threat to students or staff.

Previously, Miller was the superintendent of Mentor Schools in northern Ohio.

In December 2020, Miller received a five-year extension of his contract with Lakota.

Miller has not publicly made any comments regarding the investigation.
