New superintendent chosen for Wichita Falls ISD

Just three days before the official end of the contract with the previous superintendent, the Wichita Falls ISD has named a successor.

On Monday, the WFISD board of trustees unanimously chose Donny Lee as the next superintendent.

Lee comes to the Wichita Falls area from Buna, Texas, a small town of around 2,000 residents, where he was the superintendent of the 3A district.

WFISD previous superintendent was Mike Kuhrt, who resigned just before the end of the school year.

The district named Debbie Dipprey as interim superintendent until the next superintendent is officially in place.
