Superman & Lois season 2 has promoted Natalie Irons actress Tayler Buck to regular cast member status.

This follows the debut season finale which concluded with a space pod arriving in Smallville carrying (from a different Earth) John Henry and Lois Lane's techno-savvy daughter Natalie, who'd made her way there to uncover the location of her missing family.

Buck's meatier role in the forthcoming episodes was first reported by TVLine.

Back in July, Chrissy Beppo star Sofia Hasmik was also handed an upgrade ahead of season 2 – her Smallville Gazette reporter will be featuring much more prominently next time.

It goes without saying but Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch are reprising their titular characters, as they continue to "deal with all of the stress, pressures, and complexities that come with being working parents to two super-powered sons, post-Crisis retconned twins Jonathan and Jordan, in today's society".

Aside from all that, there's plenty of Kryptonian heroics on the table too.

In Digital Spy's two-star review of season 1, we decided: "Based just off the first episode, Superman & Lois doesn't seem to know if it's part of the Arrowverse or if it's just the cheaper cousin of Zack Snyder's movie fare. Either way, the show as a whole suffers for it."

Superman & Lois airs on The CW in the US, with a UK broadcaster yet to be found.
