Supplies of all blood types critically low at Hendrick Regional Blood Center

UPDATE:

Hendrick Regional Blood Center has scheduled an emergency blood drive 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, with the blood mobile parked in front of Hendrick Medical Center North, 1900 Pine Street.

"We are in critical need for type O-positive and O-negative. However, we will accept all blood types," said hospital spokeswoman Lynne Bruton.

Hendrick Regional Blood Center officials Tuesday announced that supplies of O-positive and O-negative blood remain critically low.

In addition, all other blood types are needed because of diminished stock on hand.

Donations can be made at the center, 1701 Pine St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Walk-ins are welcome.
