Supplies Delivered for COVID-19 Field Hospital in Southern California

Supplies designated for a Samaritan’s Purse temporary field hospital were delivered to an Air Force plant in Palmdale, California, on January 11. The supplies were headed to the 70-bed COVID-19 field hospital in nearby Lancaster.

This footage taken by the 412th Test Wing public affairs team shows the Samaritan’s Purse DC-8 taxiing into NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center at Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale. According to a release from Samaritan’s Purse, Antelope Valley Hospital and the City of Lancaster “reached out to Samaritan’s Purse because of their experience in providing surge capacity in the wake of the pandemic.”

California has 2,747,288 confirmed cases to date, with 36,487 newly confirmed cases Monday, the state reported. Large-scale vaccination sites, including at Dodgers Stadium and Disneyland, were set to open this week. Credit: DVIDS via Storyful
