How to support local journalism with donation to News Fund

Dear Readers,

In November, the Sun Sentinel wrapped up an ambitious series called “Condo Wars,” which examined life under the rule of condominium and homeowners associations.

The series brought to light the associations’ outsized power in Florida, including squelching free speech, levying fines and making financial decisions largely unchecked by regulators. Many readers wrote how they appreciated the newsroom tackling this overlooked issue.

Journalism projects like “Condo Wars” take thousands of hours of meticulous reporting. It involves combing through documents, interviewing subjects, fact-checking, writing, editing and illustrating with graphics, photos and video.

Donate to the Sun Sentinel’s Community News Fund now by visiting SunSentinel.com/donate.

Many local newspapers no longer have the resources to do big investigations. The Sun Sentinel remains committed to it.

And that leads to an ask of you, our readers. You can support local journalism with a tax-deductible donation to the Florida Press Foundation and earmark it for the Sun Sentinel’s Community News Fund. The newsroom applies the donations toward expenses such as public records request fees, out-of-town travel, training and college interns.
If you want to help you can contribute online at SunSentinel.com/donate.

Or, if you prefer to donate by check, please make payment to Florida Press Foundation and note that it is intended for the Sun Sentinel.
