Highland Village is owned by WS Development and company officials are happy to welcome the latest outlet to the shopping development.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Sur La Table and their culinary expertise to Highland Village,” said Alexandra Clark, WS Development's senior vice president, asset strategy and experience . “We are always looking for new ways to provide fresh experiences for our guests, and we are confident that our community will love Sur La Table’s interactive cooking classes as well as their top-of-the-line kitchenware.”

Since debuting its first shop at Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market in 1972, Sur La Table has become an experiential destination. The retailer specializes in sales of quality cookware and tabletop entertaining products, while offering a robust cooking-class program tailored to adults as well offerings for younger cooks. It will host frequent in-store events and demonstrations.

The retailer struggled at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July 2020 and closed nearly half of its stores across the U.S.

According to industry reporting, three years after a joint venture of Marquee Brands and CSC Generation bought Sur La Table for nearly $90 million, the culinary retailer has continued its resurgence.

Now, Sur La Table operates about 60 store locations in 22 states.
