Surgeon General Says COVID Variants Risky for Unvaccinated

Fewer people are getting vaccinated each day.

VIVEK MURTHY: For those who are unvaccinated, uh, they are increasingly at risk, uh, as more and more variants, uh, develop.

REPORTER: The surgeon general encouraging people to get vaccinated and warning about new variants of the coronavirus. 15 and 1/2 million Americans would need to get a shot in the next 4 weeks to hit President Biden's goal of 70% of adults having at least 1 dose by July 4. But take a look at this.

You can see the trend on your screen now. Fewer people are getting vaccinated each day. Almost 64% of adults have received their first shot, but reaching herd immunity also requires the youngest Americans to get vaccinated.
