Surveillance video shows moment car crashes into New Hampshire bar, injuring dozens

New video shared with Boston 25 News shows the moment a car smashes into a bar in Laconia, New Hampshire over the weekend, injuring more than a dozen patrons inside, authorities said.

The vehicle struck the Looney Bin Bar & Grill a little after 12:40 p.m. Sunday and came to a stop well inside, pinning one man inside the bathroom, restaurant owner Michelle Watson said.

In the surveillance video, you can see a car pulling out of a lot across the street into a lane of traffic. The car then hits an oncoming car outside of Looneys, sending it slamming into the building.

“Everybody jumped right in and helped,” Watson said. “Everybody jumped in to make sure everybody was okay.”

The impact sent 14 people to the hospital, officials said. Two of the patients who were transported had significant lower leg injuries, while the others had lacerations. Twenty people were evaluated at the scene and didn’t require medical transport.

Watson told Boston 25 on Tuesday that everyone who was injured is going to be okay.

The bar now plans to reopen after making repairs.

“I don’t know when we’re going to be able to open again, but we will,” Watson said.
