Survey says Philadelphia International is the worst. Try these smaller airports instead

Survey says: Philadelphia International Airport, while improving, still provides poor customer service.

So much so, that Philadelphia ranked dead last in a recent customer satisfaction survey of the nation's largest airports.

In J.D. Power's 2023 North American Airport Satisfaction Study, Philadelphia International received a satisfaction index score of 750, well below the 789 segment average, and 82 points behind segment leader Tampa International Airport, which received a survey score of 832.

J.D. Power's survey measured overall traveler satisfaction by examining six factors, in order of importance: terminal facilities; airport arrival and departure; baggage claim; security check; check-in/baggage check; and food, beverage and retail.

J.D. Power spokesperson Michael Taylor said airports have had a rough year, but major capital improvements made over the last several years and new investments have helped them manage the crush of passengers.

It will also cost you more, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Data shows Philadelphia International Airport is fifth in the nation in percentage spikes in airfare.
