Surviving victims of Atlanta active shooter identified

Four women were injured and another was killed on Wednesday after a shooting at a medical center in Midtown Atlanta.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum has confirmed that a 38-year-old woman died from her injuries. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified her as Amy St. Pierre.

The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention said St. Pierre was an employee there in a statement:

“CDC is deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of a colleague killed today in the Midtown Atlanta shooting. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and colleagues as they remember her and grieve this tragic loss.”

Arrest warrants obtained by Channel 2 Action News identified the injured victims as Lisa Glynn, Georgette Whitlow, Jazzmin Daniel and Alesha Hollinger. The women range in age from 25 to 71.

Dr. Robert Jansen, Grady Memorial Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, says three of those women suffered critical injuries. Two of them have undergone surgery and another underwent radiology. All three of them are currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

Police said 24-year-old Deion Patterson opened fire in the waiting room of a Northside Hospital medical office in Midtown Atlanta Wednesday around noon.

Police said after the shooting, Patterson stole a truck at a nearby Shell station and drove to Cobb County, where he abandoned the truck in a parking garage near the Battery.

Police captured Patterson, in Cobb County several hours after the shooting.
