Sushi restaurant receives “C” five other Myrtle Beach area restaurants receive “B” grade
One Sushi restaurant in Surfside Beach receives 72 percent “C” grade which means food safety practices need significant improvement.
Five other locations in the Myrtle Beach area from Little River to Murrells Inlet also received low grades in unannounced routine inspections this week. They will all have follow-up inspections within the next ten days as noted on reports provided to The Sun News.
R | Indicates a Routine Inspection - Unannounced and conducted on a frequency determined by the facility’s Risk Category on a frequency of one to four times a year.
The following restaurant’s had follow-up inspections done this week after not receiving “A” grade in last week’s inspections report.
F | Indicates a Follow-Up Inspection - Conducted within ten days of a Routine Inspection that requires follow-up verification.
Here is how they scored on the follow-up inspection’s (3/20-3/24) :
Scatori’s Pizzeria, located at 1399 S. Commons Dr., Myrtle Beach received a follow-up inspection on March 24 and scored 83 percent for the second week in a row, inspectors noted on the report that a “C” grade was posted for non-compliance. Scatori’s Pizzeria had a follow-up inspection on March 30 and received 99 percent “A” grade according to the report.
Beachin’ Southern Restaurant and Bar, located at 1310 U.S. 17 Business, Murrells Inlet received a routine inspection on March 20 and scored 84 percent a “B” grade. Beachin’ Southern Restaurant and Bar had a follow-up inspection on March 30 and received 93 percent “A” grade according to the report.
Casa Calamari, located at 1900 U.S. 17 N., Surfside Beach received a routine inspection on March 23 and scored 80 percent a “B” grade. Casa Calamari had a follow-up inspection on March 31 and received 98 percent “A” grade according to the report.
Remember to take a look at the food letter grade decal when you visit your favorite restaurants. Make sure you see an “A” grade posted near the entrance of the facility. Within the next year SC Department of Health and Environmental Control will have QR codes on food decals at restaurant’s so you can scan and find out your favorite restaurant’s history.
