The group’s annual Knox Township Christmas Drive Thru event featured multiple holiday activities for all ages, with the theme of “Polar Express.”

Homeworth Community Group members moved throughout town while dressed in their pajamas, just like the children were in the popular holiday film based Chris Van Allsburg’s book first published in 1985.

The drive-thru featured a display with a “Polar Express” train that had an engine light, smoke coming from the stack and realistic engine and horn sounds.

Free food included hams, meat, fruit and popcorn that was made in a huge kettle at Homeworth Feed Mill. Toys and candy bags, including a “Polar Express” bell with "Believe" written on it and hot chocolate, also based on the “Polar Express” theme, were passed out to the children.

Carolers from Mennonite Church of God In Christ Choir of Homeworth sang on the Homeworth Mill Stage.

The day’s events began with a military tribute to honor current and past military service members. Half of the display featured a deployed service member, while the other half featured those at home missing their loved one.

The last stop of the drive-thru was at a giant mural of a train at the station, where families could get a picture taken. Vallie Scott Teague of Lillies & Sparrow's Photography provided the photo op.

Volunteers and donors included Kelly Palmer and Family; Sarchione Auto Group; Homeworth Feed & Grain; Kenny Smith-Healthy Mind Training, Ltd.; Deer Valley Farm; Tom Grosenbaugh-Kettle Corn; Homeworth Masonic Lodge. Jonathon Bloor and the members of Homeworth Community Group created decorations and the light display throughout town. Homeworth Fire Department handed out hundreds of smoke detectors.
