Suspect accused of hitting, killing Pinellas deputy on I-275 caught; road closures continue

The Pinellas County Sheriff's office said the suspect wanted for a hit-and-run that killed a deputy on Thursday night is now in custody. The interstate remains closed at this time. Deputies searched throughout the early morning for Victor Vazquez-Real, 35. He's accused of hitting and killing Deputy Michael Hartwick, 51, then running away. He was taken into custody around 8:40 a.m. "All I can say is, here we go again," Gualtieri said. "This is 18 months after Deputy Magli was killed. We go 110 years in the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office with no line of duty deaths — now we have two in 18 months." Full story: https://wfts.tv/3C2MKnu
