Man arrested in connection to 2 bank robberies on same street in Shadyside
A 29-year-old man is in custody after police say he robbed two banks located on the same Shadyside street within 24 hours.
Rashon Coleman faces charges of robbery and theft.
According to court documents, Coleman first entered the PNC Bank on Centre Ave, around 4:30 p.m Monday. He allegedly demanded $50,000 from a teller while appearing to have a firearm.

Coleman allegedly got away with about $900 and fled.
Police returned to the area on Tuesday morning to search for surveillance video. As officers were near the PNC, they heard a call for another bank robbery occurring at the First National Bank just one block away.
According to police, Coleman entered the bank just after 11 a.m. and again demanded cash. He reportedly threatened to shoot a teller in the head.
The suspect left the bank with $6,344. Officers located him in the area and arrested him. He reportedly had a “large amount of cash” on him and a “nerf style gun.”
Coleman confessed to the robberies and “explained that his family is having issues and he needed the money,” according to the complaint.
