Suspect arrested in fatal shooting at Alcoa Highway nightclub

A 24-year-old Loudon man is facing manslaughter and aggravated assault charges in connection with a deadly shooting at an Alcoa Highway nightclub last month.

Bredy Adrian Mancia-Caceres was taken into custody Friday in Loudon County by members of the Knoxville Police Department's Violent Crime Unit and Loudon County Sheriff’s Office deputies, a Knoxville police spokesperson said in a press release.

Mancia-Caceres is set for a Nov. 15 preliminary hearing into the evidence on one charge of manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault, court records state. He remains in jail on an immigration hold, according to court records.

Officers responded to El Pulpo Loco, 2909 Alcoa Highway, at around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 16 for a shooting with multiple victims. Pablo Roberto Nunez Acosta, 32, of Louisville, Tennessee, died at the scene. Anderson Sanchez, 21, of Knoxville, was in critical condition at University of Tennessee Medical Center. A third man, Joel Canales, 28, of Knoxville, sustained a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

A witness told police he had driven Mancia-Caceres from the scene and then took him back later to pick up his vehicle, court records state. The witness said he overheard Mancia-Caceres saying he shot and killed someone.

According to court records, Mancia-Caceres admitted getting into a fight with one of the victims over an alcoholic beverage and punching him. A larger fight ensued in the parking lot, ending in the shooting.
