Second arrest made in murder of innocent teen shot in face outside Clayton County barbershop

Clayton County Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a deadly shooting last year and one remains on the run.

The department’s fugitive unit tracked and arrested Rontavius Deon Holt, on Wednesday.

On April 2, 2022, at 4:14 p.m., Clayton County Police responded to a shooting at a barbershop in College Park in the 5400 block of West Fayetteville Road. Officers found 17-year old Anthony “China” McClain dead outside the shop he owned with his family.

Police said that McClain was an innocent bystander that got caught in the crossfire of an argument over drugs involving one of the barbers.

According to police, an unnamed barber extended a $900 credit to Jaimonnie Watkins-Causey, 21, for marijuana. Police say the barber was attempting to get payment for the drugs from Watkins-Causey.

The men physically attacked the barber inside the barbershop. The unnamed barber was shot and survived his injuries.
