LA man arrested after assault turns fatal in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man is dead and another man is in custody after an assault turned deadly in Fallbrook Sunday night, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies received reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at 8:42 p.m. in the 100 block of Ammunition Road in Fallbrook. When they arrived on the scene, they found an adult man outside with a leg injury.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but died about an hour later, according to SDSO. He was identified Monday afternoon as 32-year-old Humberto Melecio.

The suspect was seen by a witness leaving the area in a vehicle, and was found by deputies a short time later.

Deputies initially detained the suspect with no additional information, but identified him in an update Monday afternoon. SDSO homicide investigators have arrested Glenn Rosales, 46, of Los Angeles. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility and is facing charges of murder.

Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances and motivation as the investigation remains open.
