Suspect nabbed for stabbing to death roommate in Bronx NYCHA apartment last June in feud over money

A suspect has been nabbed for stabbing to death his 56-year-old roommate in their Bronx NYCHA apartment last June during a feud over money, police said Monday.

Mohamed Konateh-Sidebeh, 25, was arrested Sunday for murder, manslaughter, robbery and weapon possession.

Nancy “Fudgie” Newsome was stabbed in the lower body inside her Castle Hill Houses apartment on Olmstead Ave. on June 24, police said. She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center but could not be saved.

She was stabbed during an argument over money her roommate owed her, cops said Monday.

Police later released video of the suspect, seen entering and leaving the building, wanted for questioning.

Police said the suspect, who later moved to the Wakefield section of the Bronx, has no prior arrests.
