Suspect nicknamed ‘Baby Boy’ nabbed for shooting Bronx dad in head, setting him on fire five years ago

A suspect nicknamed ‘Baby Boy’ has been nabbed out of state for setting a Bronx dealer on fire after shooting him in the head during a 2017 drug robbery.

Rodney Spratley, 41, was arrested in Winston Salem, N.C., on Tuesday and charged with the murder of Noel Farrow inside the victim’s home on Gleason Ave. in Unionport, according to authorities.

Farrow, a 45-year-old father of two, was set on fire after he was shot in the head, cops said at the time.

Spratley nicked Farrow’s drug money before setting him ablaze, according to the federal complaint against him.

Video surveillance from Farrow’s apartment building captured grainy footage of a bearded man sporting a baseball cap pulled down over his face and wearing a windbreaker strolling slowly down the hallway toward his door on the night of the killing.

After that, it seemed the trail went cold for five years. It’s unclear what led to a break in the case.

Farrow had an extensive criminal record at the time of his death and had just done a nine-year stretch in federal prison for being part of a cocaine ring run out of John’s Pizza on Westchester Ave.

“Using their pizza shop as a front for drug trafficking, the dough that this organization made was not from the sale of pizza but rather illegal narcotics,” DEA Agent John Gilbride said after the ring was busted.

Sprately has a criminal history, as well, and served three-and-a-half years in prison after getting caught with several guns in the Bronx. He was released in 2017.

Spratley’s lawyer John Diaz did not respond to an email request for comment.
