Man paid suspect to attack woman with knife in Orlando parking garage, police say

An Orlando man paid an associate $100 to attack his girlfriend with a knife, cutting and slicing her face, after she upset him, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Police say Alexis Colón Colón, 35, asked the associate to “send a message” to the victim by hurting her and discussed how to injure her “such as [by] cutting her face,” before driving with the suspect to her location, according to an affidavit.

The suspect confronted the victim April 17 in the Plaza parking garage downtown and attacked her, according to an affidavit. Surveillance video showed the suspect followed the victim to her parking spot in a gold Toyota Prius rented by Colón Colón before the attack, an OPD spokesperson said in an unsigned email.

A supplemental affidavit showed Colón Colón drove to the Orlando parking garage with the person who committed the attack. The suspect leaned into the car and cut the woman. No further details were immediately available, as Colón Colón’s full arrest affidavit is sealed.

Colón Colón was arrested Thursday on charges of burglary with a deadly weapon and criminal attempt for soliciting someone to commit a crime. He remains at the Orange County Jail without bond.

When asked if police arrested the suspect who committed the attack, an OPD spokesperson said the case is still active and additional arrests and charges may be pending.

The agency said the incident is related to ongoing domestic violence issues between the couple and urged anyone experiencing domestic abuse to contact Harbor House’s 24-hour crisis hotline at 407-886-2856.
