Denver mass shooting suspect arrested in Southern California
A teenager wanted in connection with a mass shooting outside of a Denver nightclub was arrested Thursday morning in San Bernardino County, California.
Officers from the Denver Police Department arrested Keanna Rosenburgh in Barstow, a desert city roughly 115 miles northeast of Los Angeles, with assistance from the FBI and Barstow police, authorities said.
Rosenburgh is accused of shooting and wounding five people outside of a nightclub in Lower Downtown Denver, known locally as LoDo, on Sept. 16, after security refused to let her in because they believed she was using fake identification.
According to KTLA’s sister station KDVR, Rosenburgh briefly left, returned to speak with security, and then allegedly fired shots toward the club as she left.
All the victims survived their injuries.
“With assistance from the community through tips to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, Rosenburgh was identified as the suspect,” police said in a news release. “Through extensive investigative efforts, Denver Police Fugitive Unit investigators determined the suspect was in Barstow, California, and further investigation and surveillance led to the arrest this morning.”
Police said Rosenburgh is a juvenile but did not reveal her exact age. Her booking has not been released.
Rosenburgh was being held on eight counts of investigation of first-degree attempted homicide.
