According to Skhemy, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) turned to Motor Sich in April 2022 to obtain a Mi-2 helicopter. Boguslayev then ordered Motor Sich personnel to disassemble the helicopter and hide its spare parts, hide documents from intelligence officers, and commit other acts of sabotage and delay, according to the recordings.

During a court hearing, Boguslayev explained the removal of spare parts as a “normal work process” and denied his guilt. His pre-trial detention period was extended until May 27.

However, he can be heard on the recordings discussing this issue with Motor Sich Marketing and Trade Director Pavlo Kasay, division head Ihor Kostyuk, designer Roman Myronenko, and Oleksandr Ponikarevych, head of the AgroaviaDnipro company where the helicopter was located, as well as an employee of the service company, Oleksandr Kornienko.

Skhemy also revealed that Boguslayev was aiming to prevent Ukrainian intelligence from using the Mi-2 helicopter with the help of Servant of the People MP Hennadiy Kasay – Pavlo Kasay’s brother. However, the lawmaker refused to comment on the matter when approached by Skhemy.

In addition, Natalia Ulyanenko, who managed Motor Sich’s Kyiv office and was an advisor to the Chief of the General Staff, can also be heard assisting Boguslayev in his efforts. However,. she told journalists that Boguslayev “simply couldn’t” order the transfer to be blocked, and she claimed that she doesn’t remember her involvement in the process. According to Ulyanenko, she currently works at Motor Sich as an adviser to the new manager.

At the same time, Boguslayev admitted that Ukrainian intelligence officers had the right to requisition the helicopter, and Skhemy noted that HUR did, in the end, receive the helicopter.

The Skhemy investigation also revealed documents affirming that Boguslayev was working to sell defective equipment, such as a helicopter not cleared for flight, to military officials.

Earlier, NV reported that Ukraine’s SBU security service had detained Boguslayev in connection with Motor Sich’s illegal supply of military products for Russian attack aircraft.

Boguslayev has been a Russian citizen since 2000, Skhemy discovered.

On Oct. 24, 2022, Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district court issued an arrest warrant for Boguslayev.
