'Suspicious death' report at Fayetteville motel under investigation, police say
Fayetteville police are investigating after a man was found dead in an Owen Drive motel room Thursday evening.
Police responded to a report of a "suspicious death" at 6:50 p.m. at the Extended Stay America, 408 Owen Drive, according to a Fayetteville Police Department news release. Jeremy Mercer, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
The circumstances of Mercer’s death are under investigation, police said Thursday morning.
